The Giblem Lodge
Project Type
Photography
Date
April 2023
As part of the rehabilitation efforts for Giblem Lodge No. 2—North Carolina’s second-oldest Black Masonic temple, built in 1871—we were honored to contribute to the refurbishing and recreation of its historic windows. Located in Wilmington’s historic district, the Lodge is a cornerstone of Black civic and cultural history, and every architectural detail carries meaning.
The work was paused due to delays in government funding, but the vision remains clear: to restore Giblem Lodge as a vibrant community space and living archive of Black heritage. Once resumed, the window restoration will continue to reflect the care, precision, and respect this landmark deserves.
